Mr. Carl "Poodle" Parks, age 49 of Gray, KY departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in the Knox Co. Hospital. He was born on May 26, 1963 in Gary, Indiana and was the son of Mary Ellen (Lovely) Shepherd and the late Robert Parks.
He is survived by his two sons, Michael Parks and wife Doria of Keavy, KY and Steven Parks and fiance' Heather Cole of Gray, KY, seven grandchildren, Kailee, Paris, Adryanna, Shaelynn, Mikel, Destiny and Zach, one brother, Charley Parks and wife Betty of Barbourville and two sisters, Vickie Marquart and husband Steven of Milford, Indiana and Kathleen Chaplin and husband Kenneth of Syracuse, Indiana, two half brothers, David Wayne Parks and Billy Ray Parks both of KY and three half sisters, Linda Parks, Debbie Parks both of KY and Lora Williams of TN, a special cousin, Brian Wilson who was like a brother, a special nephew Nathan Parks, two very special friends, Ronnie Mills and Diane Nixon. Carl also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Carl Parks will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Lonnie Collett and Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be, Michael Parks, Steven Parks, Ronnie Mills, Mark Mills, James Cole, Nathan Parks and Josh Parks. Honorary pallbearers will be, all members of the New Bethel Baptist Church, the staff of the Knox Co. Hospital and David McVey. Mr. Parks will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening from
6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
