Mr. Carl Campbell, age 84 of London, Ky. departed this life on Friday, May 16, 2008 at his home. He was the son of Albert Campbell & Mandie (Mcvey) Campbell, born to them in Knox Co. KY on May 10, 1924. Mr. Campbell was a member of the Paint Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired security guard for Tremco in Barbourville, KY and was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during WWII. He held a purple heart, a victory medal and an Army occupation medal. Mr. Campbell also loved caring for cat’s & dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mandie Campbell, his wife Edna Campbell , and one brother Earl Campbell.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his ex-wife Bessie Letch Mills of Williamsburg, two sons Raymond Stenzel & wife of Kissimmee,Florida and Daymond Campbell & wife also of Florida, two daughters Martha Cobb of London, and Donna Lee Thies of Kingsman, Arizona., two brothers Harold Campbell & wife Estelle and Billy Ray Campbell & wife Bernice all of Gray, KY, two sisters Mary Sears and Hazel Hatfield & husband Larry all of London, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Campbell also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Carl Campbell will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Denvil Taylor & Rev. Columbus Hensley officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be staff of Seton Home Health Agency. Interment will be in the Paint Hill Cemetery with Hampton Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
