Bobby Simpson

Mr. Bobby Gene Simpson age 68, of Artemus, KY passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the Knox County Hospital. He was united in marriage to Lora Ann Hurst Simpson who survives. He was born on September 19, 1942 at Coalport in Knox County, Ky to the union of Virgil and Ada (Jackson) Simpson who also preceded him in death. He was a retired Coal Miner.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Simpson, two grandchildren, Crystal Gail Simpson and Dewayne Simpson and his mother and father in law Link and Phoebe Hurst.
Other survivors include three sons, Bobby Simpson , Brian Simpson and Jerry Simpson all of Trosper, three daughters, Pamela Sowders and husband Mike of Barbourville, Vicki Honeycutt and husband Jerry of Stephen Trace, Penny Ann Johnson and husband George of Gray, three brothers, Denver Simpson of Barbourville, Wayne Simpson and wife Tanya of Coalport, Charles Simpson and wife Sharon of Coalport, six sisters, Betty June Taylor of Louisville, Brenda Richardson and husband Linville of Indiana, Rita Poindexter and husband Cecil of Coalport, Bonnie Collett and husband Floyd of Coalport, Charlotte Swartz and husband Stan of Tennessee, Delena Mills and husband Bill of Girdler. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Bobby Gene Simpson will be conducted on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roe Gibson and Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sowders Cemetery at Coalport with George Johnson, Jerry Honeycutt, Bill Mills, Jim Collins, Terry poindexter, Michael Sowders, Mike Sowders, Travis Simpson, Dustin Simpson and Eric Martin serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. James West, Knox County Hospital Staff especially the ICU Staff. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
The family will receive friends on Friday November 5, 2010 at Hampton funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
