Mr. Bob Mac Merritt age 76, of Barbourville passed away Friday at the
Baptist Regional medical Center. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jones Merritt who survives. He was born on September 1, 1934 in Knox County to Clfford and Ollie Jones Merritt who preceded him in death. He was a retired truck driver and Magistrate for district #3 for sixteen years. He was a member of Cumberland Valley Masonic lodge #751 F&AM, American legion, VFW, loved Bass fishing and Kentucky Basketball.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Wrenzo Merritt, Homer Merritt and John Wesley Merritt and two sisters: Myrle Goldsberry and Naomi Merritt.

Other survivors include one son: Roger Dale Merritt and wife Maeda of Artemus and one daughter: Teresa Lynn Maynes of Corbin and husband Ricky of Warren Camp and five grandchildren Eric Nikita maynes and wife Annah, Justin Merritt, colton Merritt, Dylan merritt and Tiffany Jordan. She is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Graveside services, Burial and Military Rites for Bob Mac Merritt will be conducted at the Barbourville Cemetery on Monday October 25, 2010 @ 2:00 p.m. with Gene Hubbs officiating. Masonic services will be conducted on Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
