Bill Gilbert

Mr. Bill Gilbert age 91, of Scott Branch, Rd passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in the Knox County Hospital. He was born on May 12, 1918 in Knox County to the union of Jake and Nancy Pittman Gilbert. He was united in marriage to Zella Osborne Gilbert who preceded him in death. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church a former employee at Lawson Furniture and a Farmer.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two daughters: Mary Carnes and Mayo Hubbard, three brothers: Everett, Jim and Crit Gilbert, two sisters Pearl Cole and Maggie Helton.
Survivors include one son Jack Gilbert and wife Beulah of Centerville, OH, one brother: Sam Gilbert and wife Marie of Cincinnati, OH and one sister Mabel Parman and husband Sam of Fairfield, OH six grandchildren and six great grandchildren one special niece Michelle Sizemore and one special nephew Pat Gilbert and special friends Barbara Davidson, Sandra Davis, Agnes Stacy, Marie Chestnut, Bill and pat Hacker. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Bill Gilbert will conducted on Sunday April 4, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Collett and Rev. Brian Hacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilbert Cemetery with Pat Gilbert, Mike Sizemore, Bill Hacker, Johnny Collett, Dwight Messer and Cleveland House serving as pallbearers. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

The family of Mr. Bill Gilbert will receive friends on Saturday April 3, 20010 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at New Bethel Baptist Church.
