Mrs. Betty Broughton Hobbs age 71, Barbourville departed this life on Thursday, April 19, 2007 in the Knox Co. Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie Broughton and the late Ollie Messer Broughton born to them October 3, 1935 in Knox County, Ky. Mrs. Hobbs believed in the Holiness faith and was a member of the New Harvest Tabernacle at Smokey. Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter; Shirley Hobbs and three brothers; Junior Broughton, Donald Broughton, and Jack Broughton. SURVIVORS INCLUDE Sons: Glenn Hobbs and wife Phyllis of Pineville, Ky Robert Hobbs and wife Geraldine of Barbourville, Ky. Eddie Hobbs and wife Audrey of Smokey, Ky. Clarence Hobbs and wife Mattie of Barbourville, Ky. Willy Hobbs of Pineville, Ky. Jamie Hobbs of Somerset, Ky. Daughters: Sheila Weatherton of Flordia Lilly Mae Smith and husband Jaybill of Hinkle, Ky. Bess Hobbs of Hinkle, Ky. Sister: Patricia Gregory Brother: Randal Broughton and wife Janie Mrs Hobbs also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren in addition to a host of friends and family to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Mills will be conducted on Sunday-April 22, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home with the Rev. Orangie Ray Wheat and Rev. J.C. Grubb officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow in the Broughton Cemetery at Long Branch.
