Bessie Lynn Smith

Ms. Bessie Lynn Smith age 52 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Monday, May  22, 2017 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of Lloyd Smith and Elizabeth Sturgill Smith born to them on February 19, 1965 in Pineville, KY. She was a member of the House of Prayer and was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her father Lloyd Smith.

Left behind to mourn her passing, her fiancé, Eness Collins of Barbourville, one son, Michael Brewer and wife Jennifer of Artemus, KY, one daughter, Rebecca Brewer of Barbourville, her mother Elizabeth Gambrel, a half-brother, Calvin Shupe and wife Maggie of Barbourville, four grandchildren, Justin Davis, Morgan Brewer, Melenna Brewer and Noah Brewer, two adopted sons, Earl Dye and Mark Philpot and four step sons, Steven Saunders, Brandon Saunders, John H. Saunders and Albert Dewayne Saunders, her ex-husband Harold Brewer. She also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Ms. Bessie Smith will be conducted in the House of Prayer at Trosper on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Eric Jordan officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Appalachian Foothills Fire Historical Society.  Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Cobb Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Cobb Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.

Friends will then be received at the House of Prayer at Trosper on Friday after 5 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
