Bennie Edwards

Mr. Bennie Edwards age 62 of Gray, KY, passed away on December 12th, 2010 in the Knox County Hospital, he was the husband of Marie (Gray) Edwards and the son of Dave & Sallie ( Smith) Edwards born to them on September 27th, 1948 in Knox Co.

Mr. Edwards was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and enjoyed like being outdoors, horses, car races, and hunting.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his father Dave Edwards, one son Joey Lee Edwards, one grandson Garrett Wayne Helton, his step father James McVey and two Nephews David Garrison, and Tommy Lee Smith.

Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Marie Edwards of Gray, KY, his mother Sallie McVey of Gray, KY, six sons Richard Burneil Edwards of Gray, KY, Micheal Edwards & wife Shelia of Girdler, KY, Bennie Lee Edwards of Girdler, KY, Jerry Lee Edwards & wife Selina of Louisville, KY, Micheal Wayne Helton & wife Sherri of Barbourville, KY, and Calvin Griffith of Corbin, KY. Two daughters Dannille Morgan of Barbourville, KY, and Kristi Griffith of Gray, KY. Three brothers David D.T. Edwards & wife Rosie Lee of Girdler, KY, Richard Edwards & wife Lisa of Gray, KY, and David Allen Edwards & wife Edna of Gray, KY, eight sisters Nettie Owens & husband Jack of Hinkle, KY, Bonnie Miller& husband Jerry of Corbin,KY, Mossie Smith & husband Lewis of Girdler, KY,Betsy Swafford & husband Tony of Cannon,KY, Wilma Smith & husbnad Charles of Woolum, KY, June Mills and husband Lonnie of girdler, KY, Christy Napier and husband Jeff of Barbourville, KY, Peggy Tomlin and husband James of Gray, KY, fifteen grandchildren Kelsey Lynn Miranda, Lacey, Dixie, Brandon, Courtney, Whitney, Kenton, Chloe, Sarah, Matthew, Zachery, Khloe, Hunter and Lucas. Ten special step Brothers and Sisters a special Uncle Andy Edwards and special friends John Crawford, Tim Phillips and Bobby Jones. Plus a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Edwards will be conducted on Thursday December 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton funeral home Chapel with Rev. Keaton Smith and Rev. Owen Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Edwards Cemetery with Nephews and friends serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Hampton Funeral Home Tuesday From 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m.
