Bama Moore of Corbin, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2016 at her home being 85 years, 6 months and 1 day of age. She was born January 31, 1931 in Knox County, Kentucky to the late Houston Collins and the late Mattie Crawford Collins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Edward Moore, son Dennis Ray Moore, her sister Mary Henson, grandson Adam Hall and one great-grandchild. Bama was a woman of great faith and understood the power of prayer. Often she could be found watching WLJC's Hour of Harvest or some other uplifting Christian programming.
She leaves behind to mourn her passing her daughters: Katherine Marie Edwards of Corbin, Kentucky and Brenda Lee Hayes and husband Wayne of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; sister: Lizza Simpson of Paint Hill; Son-in-law: Lonnie Edwards; five grandchildren: Crystal Hall, Jason Edwards, Jeremy Hall, Micheal Edwards and Steven Edwards.
A funeral service for Bama Moore will be conducted on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denvil Taylor and Rev. Orville Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery with Family and Friends serving as pallbearers. The Family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Hampton Funeral Home.
