Mr. Arvil Smith age 67 of Girdler passed away on Monday - June 4, 2012 in the Knox County hospital, he was the husband of Nettie (Jordan) Smith and the son of the late Bill & Winnie (Swafford) Smith of Knox County born to them on September 19th, 1944.
Arvil believed in the Holiness faith and was a retired factory worker from Southern Ohio Fabricators where he was a certified welder.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Sally Smith and his Father & Mother -in-law Golden & Edna ( Smith) Jordan.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife Nettie of Girdler, his two sons Landen Smith & wife Crystal of Girdler, and Donnie Smith & wife Angie of Blanchester, Ohio. Brothers Bill Jr. Smith & wife Judy of Girdler, KY, Virgil Smith & wife Helen of Flat Lick, KY, John Smith & wife Cathy and Daniel Smith & wife Cathy all of Girdler, KY and Gary Smith & wife Lisa of Woolum, KY. Sisters Anna lee Smith & husband R.C. of Jarvis, KY, Ada Ray & husband Dennis of Corbin, KY, Joyce Jordan & husband Billy, Lois Messer &husband Alvin, Wilma Jean Gray & husband Danny , and Debbie Bright & husband Joey all of Girdler, KY. Five Grandchildren Jeremy & wife Kirsten, Jeff & wife Katy, Kristy, Dylan and Cameron. Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service for Mr. Smith will be conducted on Thursday - June 7th, 2012 @ 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Collett, Rev. Raymond Smith, and Rev. Tim Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvin Jordan Cemetery with Jeff Smith, Jeremy Burton, Nick Jordan, David Brown, Cleveland Smith, Jason Smith, Paul Jordan, Mark Smith, Tony Smith, Brandon Gray and Dewayne Smith serving as Pallbearers. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
