Anna Smith

Mrs. Anna Mae Smith age 69 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Sunday, September 13, 2009 in the Christian Health Center in Corbin, KY. She was the widow of Denver Smith and the daughter of Edward and Nora Smith born to them on April 24, 1940 in Knox Co. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Horn Branch Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband Denver Smith, her parents, Edward and Nora Smith and one sister Geneva Hale and one brother General Smith. Mrs. Smith like to garden, plant flowers, read the Bible, collect dolls, and scrap booking.
Left behind to mourn her passing is four sons Lonnie Smith & wife Pat of Barbourville, KY, Earnie Smith & wife Sharon of Cannon, KY, Denver Smith, Jr.
& wife Darlene of Barbourville, KY, and Doyle Smith & wife Joan also of Barbourville, KY, two daughters Sue Hood & husband Clarence of Corbin, KY, Penny Gray & husband Darrell, of Girdler, KY, six brothers Edward Smith, Jr.
of Girdler, KY, Abe Smith & wife Gladys of Girdler, KY, Charles Smith & wife Wilma of Fount, KY, R.J. Smith & wife Janet of Cincinnati, Ohio, Earl Smith & wife June of Dewitt, KY, Chris Smith and wife Norma Jean of Woolum, KY, nineteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral service for Mrs. Anna Mae Smith will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 17th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with
Rev. Ricky Broughton and Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. Burial will follow in the Bingham Cemetery at Cannon with nephews serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
