Mrs. Anna Scroggins age 72 of Greenroad, KY, the wife of David Scroggins and the daughter of Jess & Lily (Davis) Cox was born on May 27th, 1936 in Knox County and departed this life on Saturday, August 23, 2008 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Scroggins believed in the Baptist faith, and enjoyed watching game shows, working in flowers, and decorating her home. She is preceded in death by her parents Jess & Lily Cox, two brothers Frank Cox & Ronnie Cox and one sister Charlotte Grove.
Survivors include her husband David Scroggins of Greenroad, one son Randy Scroggins and fiancé Melissa of Byron, Michigan, one daughter Eileen Messer of Greenroad, two sisters Bonnie Blair & husband Harold of TN and Helen Jewel & husband Paul of Greenroad, one grandchild David Messer, special friends Maydean Smith, Coleman & Cleadie Thomas, and Vernon Roland. Mrs. Scroggins also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral Services for Mrs. Scroggins will be conducted on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William R. Cobb, & Rev. Owen Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery at Goldens Creek. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
