America Hobbs

Ms. America (Hollin) Jones Hobbs, age 63 of Gray, KY departed this life on Thursday, November 15, 2007 in the Pineville Community Hospital. She was the daughter of Charlie and Verna (Jackson) Hollin born to them on July 8, 1944 in Clay Co., KY. Ms. Hobbs believed in the Pentecostal faith. She loved to grow flowers, watch TV, cook and house clean.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Verna Hollin, one son Stanley Jones, two daughters, Birdie Alene Lee andVerna Rose Jones, two brothers, Will Hollin and Jackie Hollin, four sisters, Virginia Bowling, Nannie Bradford, Mossie Hollin, Edna Hollin.

Survivors include, her former husband Rufus Jones of Gray, KY, one son, Will Jones of Gray, Ky., one brother, Larkin Hollin and wife Lois of Elizabethtown, KY and ten sisters, Delora Mills of Gray, Mary Shorter and husband Finley of Corbin, Leona McQuery of Gray, Flossie Hinkle and husband C.B. of Gray, Georgia Humfleet and husband Basil of Gray, Alice Jones and husband Clifton of Gray, Sara Gray and husband Oliver of Jackson, TN, Elizabeth Owens of Gray, Martha Shorter and husband Riley of Corbin, and Axie Scott and husband Roger of Gray. Fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren along with a host of many other relatives and friends are left to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Ms. Hobbs will be conducted on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Charlie Humfleet officiating. Pallbearers will be, family & friends, Honorary pallbearers will be, Dr. Hayes & staff and the Nurses and staff of the ICU at Pineville Hospital. Burial will be in the Hollin Family Cemetery at Gray, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
