Alton Delmore Witt

Mr. Alton Delmore Witt, age 82 of Holmes Mill, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 3, 1941, the son of Hubert and Nora (Blair) Witt and was the husband of Barbara (Baldwin) Witt.  He was a retired Coal Miner and a member of the Cloverfork Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #880 F & AM and served his country in the United States Army.  Alton loved spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Nora Witt, his first wife Virginia Parker Witt and one sister, Peggy Louise West.

Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife of fourty-three years, Barbara Witt of Holmes Mill, six children, Pam Ellis and husband Ray of Jonesville, Virginia, Mitchell Witt and wife Pam of Evarts, Kentucky, Alta Witt of Lawrenceburg, Indian, Kim Witt of Woodstock, Georgia, Bert Witt of Closplint, Kentucky and Mary Ann Vanover of Keokee, Virginia, two siblings, Gwen Short and husband Don of Norwood, Ohio and Sondra Combs of Chicago, Illinois, fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a very special cousin, Israel Foster along with many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Alton Witt will be conducted in the Cloverfork Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Blair officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. He will be laid to rest in the Holmes Mill Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Friends will be received at the church on Thursday evening after 5:00 p.m.
