Mr. Allen "A.W." Haynes age 67 of Cannon, KY departed this life on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of Helen (Messer) Haynes and the son of Jack & Mazzie Haynes born to them on September 28, 1946. Mr. Haynes believed in the Baptist faith and was retired from CSX railroad where he worked for thirty seven years before retiring. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. He loved his family, playing with his grandchildren, working in the yard, building and grilling and especially loved his three dogs, Sparky, Lady and Gilbert.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Mazzie Haynes and one brother, Jerry, his mother & father in law, Luther and Martha Messer, one brother in law, Lonnie Jackson and one sister in law, Anna Marie Charles.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife Helen of Cannon, four daughters, Tammy Smith and husband Harlan of Jarvis, Tina Phipps and husband Luke of Heidrick, Angela Lawson and Chris of Cannon, and Crystal Mills and Timmy Joe Smith of Girdler, one brother, Larry Whitman and wife Pam of Anniston, Alabama, one sister, Rita Butler of Cullman, Alabama, nine grandchildren, Tyler & Dustin Phipps, Whitney Smith, Dustin Mills, Zachary Broughton, Miranda Lawson, Ashley Bright, Mary Ann Engle and Ashley Martin, four great grandchildren, Rylee Bright, Tyler Mills, Briannah Mills and McKenzie Martin, brothers & sisters in law, Cleda Jackson, Gary Charles, Luther Messer, Jr. and wife Dora, Arvil and Della Messer, Jimmy and Christine Messer, Floyd & Helen Messer, Chester and Shirley Messer and Dexter and Francis Sue Messer. Mr. Haynes also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Haynes will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Owen Smith and Rev. David Barnard officiating. Pallbearers will be, Dustin Mills, Timmy Miracle, James Lawson, Jimmy Hinkle, Brandon Bright, Luke Phipps, Carl Vaughn, Zachary Broughton, Bug Trent and Eric Mills. Burial will follow in the Messer Cemetery at Greenroad. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
