Alene Carnes (Hibbard) Mills

Mrs. Alene (Hibbard) Carnes Mills age 78 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in the Ball Memorial Medical Center in Muncie, Indiana. She was born on March 4, 1935 in Four Mile, KY and was the daughter of Willie and Victoria (Stewart) Hibbard.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Silas Carnes and later by her second husband G.T. Mills. Also preceding her in death is an infant daughter Gail Carnes and five brothers, Russell Hibbard, Arvil Hibbard, Earnest Hibbard, Arthur Hibbard and Virgil Hibbard and one sister, Wilma Hibbard Carnes.
She leaves behind to mourn her passing two sons, Silas Carnes, Jr. and wife Glenda of Corbin, KY, and Nick Carnes of Flat Lick, three daughters, Gwen Collins, Jennifer Helton and husband Ron and Missy Helton and husband Steve all of Flat Lick, five brothers, Vernon Hibbard of LaGrange, KY, Otis Hibbard of Winchester, Indiana, Ralph Hibbard and wife Linda of Franklin, Ohio, and Willie Hibbard, Jr. and wife Imogene of Winchester, Indiana and Dennis Hibbard and wife Debbie of Barbourville, KY. She also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alene Carnes Mills will be conducted on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Morris and Rev. Brian Miracle officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews and Honorary pallbearers will be, Bill Brown, John Pickard, Robert Cobb, Tom Mills, Tommy Smith, Gary Smith, Jerry Paul Cox, John Collins and Jerry Cox. Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Thursday evening from
6:00 until 9:00 and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
