Mr. Add Bays age 86 of Artemus, KY passed away on Saturday - June 25th, 20ll at his home. He was the widower of Laura Judith (Cook) Bays and the son of the late Jessie & Laura (Shelton) Bays of Knox County born to them on November 3rd, 1924.
Mr. Bays was a retired coal miner from Brownings Creek & Coyers where he had worked for over 30 years, Mr. Bays believed in the Pentecostal faith, and enjoyed fishing, walking, and his family.
Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son Ben Bays, two brothers Ted Bays, and Hubert Bays, one son-in-law Glen Murray, two grandchildren Angela Dawn Taylor, and Terry Steven Taylor, Jr. and one great great grandchild Kayden Alan Mullens.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his two sons Henry Bays & wife Janet of Corbin, KY, and Tommy Bays & wife Eva of Barbourville, KY, Eight daughters Elsie Murry of Flat Lick, KY, Carolyn Carnes & husband Randall of Corbin, KY, Sandra Lingar of Four mile, KY, Janice Bays of Barbourville, KY, Nora Taylor & husband Terry of Barbourville, KY, Nina Cornett & husband Patrick of Wooton, KY, Dorlene Ramey & husband Marshall, and Lorene Ramey & husband Jackey both of Barbourville, KY, one brother Roscoe Bays of Barbourville, KY, three sisters Juanita Jasper & husband Glen, Janie Phipps & husband Tony both of Radcliff, KY, and Predith Janeck of Chicago, A brother-in-law Van Cook & wife Kathy of London, KY, and a sister-in-law Pauline Hodges of Barbourville, KY, twenty one grandchildren, thirty-four Great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Bays will be conducted on Tuesday - June 28th, 2011 @ 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Gray & Rev. David Rice officiating. Pallbearers will be Scotty Bays, Jacky Ramey, Jr., Casey Miller, Dwayne Adams, Lesley Collins, and Micah gray. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Morgan, Professional Home Health, and Hospice of the Bluegrass. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
