Mrs. Ada Sue Hendrix age 63 of Woolum, Ky departed this life on Thursday, January 15, 2009 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. She was the wife of John R. Hendrix and the daughter of Lewis and Hazel Abner born to them on June 27, 1945 in Knox Co., KY. Mrs. Hendrix was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and she loved to quilt and read. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Hazel Abner.


Left behind to mourn her passing, her husband John R. Hendrix of Woolum, one son, Jerry Wayne Abner and wife Axie Marie of Gray, two daughters, Leona Gail Abner and fiance’ Brent Broughton of Girdler, and Felicia Jo Abner of Woolum, four brothers, Charles Abner and wife Darlene of Lily, Bill Abner and fiance’ Carlene Mills of Woolum, Carl Wayne Abner and wife Audrey of Barbourville and Clyde Ray Abner and wife Phyllis of Evarts,KY, four sisters, Bonnie Jane Hendrix and husband Benny Ray of Ages, KY, Lydia Pearl Jarvis and husband Kenneth of Woolum, Judy Faye Asher and husband Robert of Manchester and Janice Jo Jenkins of Barbourville, seven grandchildren, Jared Abner, Jerica Abner, Devin Abner, Kathryn Broughton, Reese Broughton, Kiera Abner and Kirk Brown. Mrs. Hendrix also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services for Mrs. Hendrix will be conducted on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mann Cobb and Rev. Darrell Bargo officiating. Pallbearers will be, Brent Broughton, Daniel Asher, Dennis Hendrix, George Jarvis, Kenny Jarvis and Joseph Hughes. Mrs. Hendrix will be laid to rest in the Betty Frost Cemetery at Woolum, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.  Friends may call at the Hampton Funeral Home today (Friday) from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and  on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Service at 2:00 p.m.
