Mrs. Abbie Pauline Hodges age 81 of Barbourville, KY, departed this life on Sunday, November 17, 2013 in the Knox Co. Hospital. She was the widow of Norman Dale Hodges and the daughter of Charles & Sudie (Hensley) Cook born to them on May 14, 1932 at Fourmile, KY. Mrs. Hodges was a member of the Henderson Chapel Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents, Charles and Sudie Cook, two infant brothers, Clandis and Elige Cook, two other brothers, Dalp Cook and Jim Cook, four sisters, Judith Bays, Cora Mae Bays, Sallie Bee Hibbard and Marie Matthews and a daughter in law Evelyn Hodges.
Left behind to mourn her passing, two sons, William Charles Hodges of Cincinnati, OH and Allen Dale Hodges and wife Pamela of Cincinnati, Ohio, one daughter, Melissa Hammons and husband Danny of Artemus, KY, one brother Van Cook of London, KY, five grandchildren, Jeffrey Dale Hammons, Bentley Jase Hammons, Christina Hodges, Joshua Hodges and Nickolas Eichstadt, four great grandchildren, Andrew Wesley, Makayle Wesley, Ariana Eichstadt and Nickolas Eichstadt, Jr. Mrs. Hodges also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Abbie Pauline Hodges will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Tim Gray and Rev. Curt Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Scotty Bays, Ralph Matthews, Donald Eichstadt, Nickolas Eichstadt, Henry Bays, Mike Broughton, Dick Lingar, Marshall Ramey and Tarry Taylor. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery at Keavy, KY with Hampton Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
